Who we are
We are a group of residents who care deeply about the responsible governing of our town. We are representative of the diverse of background, experience and thoughts of our community. In this age where it seems ideological purity within groups is the norm, we are proud of our big-tent approach. We work hard to listen intently, debate respectfully, and move the best ideas forward. All are welcome simply because we are more than a political group; we are neighbors who understand the importance of being able to fight for an idea or policy respectfully so we can then look each other in the eye when we meet around town
Are you an unaffiliated voter? Are you currently registered with another party? Have you become disillusioned by the reality of the poor leadership, policies and politics that drove Connecticut to the bottom of so many national economic rankings? Regardless of your affiliation, you will be welcomed as a guest at any of our meetings and we encourage you to attend! We value your insight.
Those of us who chose Columbia as a place to call home did so knowing that town affairs and regionally lower property taxes are the direct result of fiscally responsible leadership that remains committed to quality of life in our community. That choice makes Columbia a shining star in our region; but, it can easily reverse if we do not stay involved. The difficulties of the current climate makes it ever more important for a community voice. We have the power, through YOUR participation, to stay the course; because remember, all politics is local!
